History
The Kawaguchiko Museum of Art opened on April 14, 1991. The building was designed by the architect Takenosuke Sakakura. The museum takes its name from Lake Kawaguchi spread out before it. Since opening, it has collected and displayed paintings, prints, and photographs on the theme of Mount Fuji, becoming a place that conveys the mountain's appeal through art to those visiting the Fuji Five Lakes region.
