History

The station opened on 29 April 2004 and was officially registered as a roadside station on 9 August of the same year. It was developed to support tourism across the southern Yatsugatake foothills and to meet the rest needs of travelers on the road. In January 2015 it was chosen as a candidate for the Priority Roadside Station scheme, reinforcing its role as a base connecting the neighboring communities.

The station is located along Yamanashi Prefectural Road 11 (Hokuto-Fujimi line) in the Kobuchisawa district of Hokuto City.
