Overview
The Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art is a prefectural art museum in Kōfu, Yamanashi Prefecture, set within the Geijutsu-no-Mori (Forest of Art) Park. National Route 52 runs in front of it, and the same park is also home to the Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Literature. The building was designed by the architect Kunio Maekawa.

History
The museum, operated by Yamanashi Prefecture, opened on 3 November 1978. Since 2017 its director has been Masanori Aoyagi, who has also served as Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
Access
It stands in the Forest of Art Park in Kugawa, Kōfu, with National Route 52 running in front.
Best season
As the museum is integrated with a park, spring and autumn, when it is easy to walk outdoors, make for a pleasant visit.
