
Overview
Daimon Dam is a prefecturally operated multipurpose dam built on the Daimon River in the Fuji River system, in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. A concrete gravity dam standing 65.5 meters high with a crest length of 180 meters, it serves flood control, general water use, water supply and power generation. Its reservoir is called Lake Kiyosato, a highland waterside close to the Kiyosato plateau.

History
Construction of Daimon Dam began in 1968 and was completed in 1987. Set on a plateau at an elevation of 886 meters, this gravity dam of 65.5 meters in height and 180 meters in crest length was designed for purposes ranging from flood control to power generation. After a long construction period it entered service as a Yamanashi prefectural multipurpose dam, supporting flood management and daily life in the surrounding area.

The dam lies near latitude 35.87, longitude 138.43, in the highland zone of Hokuto City. Best season
Early summer, when fresh greenery dazzles, and autumn, colored by fall foliage, are especially beautiful. At an elevation of 886 meters the highland stays relatively cool even in summer, making it pleasant for a walk to escape the heat. In winter the clear air lends Lake Kiyosato and the surrounding peaks a quiet air.
