
Overview
Mount Kitaokusenjō is a 2,601-meter peak in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and is the highest point of the Okuchichibu mountain range. It is counted among the Kai Hyakuzan, a list of notable mountains in the former Kai Province.

History
The mountain's name derives from its position north of Mount Okusenjō (2,409 meters), located about 4 kilometers away. Although it is the highest summit in the Okuchichibu range, it sits slightly off the main ridgeline, which is thought to make it somewhat less well known than the nearby Mount Kokushi (2,592 meters) and Mount Kinpu (2,599 meters).
Access
The mountain is reached via trailheads in Yamanashi City and is commonly climbed together with adjacent Mount Kokushi.
Best season
Clear, dry weather offers the best chance of wide views from the summit. As a high mountain, extra care is needed during periods of lingering or fresh snow.
