History
The memorial hall opened in June 1937. It was built to commemorate the Sino-Japanese peace conference held at Shunpanro in 1895, where Japanese plenipotentiaries such as Ito Hirobumi and Mutsu Munemitsu faced their Qing counterparts. The building itself is listed as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, giving it value as an early Showa-era commemorative structure. Please check official sources for details of the exhibits and opening hours.
Access
The hall is in Amidaijicho, Shimonoseki City, right beside the Shunpanro restaurant and close to Akama Shrine overlooking the Kanmon Strait.
