History
The station was established on August 9, 2004, and opened to the public on March 26, 2005. Kirara Beach is known as a reclaimed coastal area developed in connection with a large event held there in the past, and this relatively new-generation station sits within it, drawing a distinctive character from its waterfront redevelopment setting.
Access
Located at 34.01283 degrees north and 131.36961 degrees east along Prefectural Route 213 (Kirara-hama Okinohara Line). From central Yamaguchi and the Ajisu area, Prefectural Route 212 (Yamaguchi-Ajisu-Ube Line) offers the clearest approach, with access from the Ube direction also possible. Driving here means traveling through sea breezes along the coast. Confirm opening hours and parking details through official sources.
Best season
To make the most of the seaside location, early summer through summer, when the sea breeze is pleasant, and autumn, when clear air sharpens the coastal views, are especially rewarding. The Seto Inland Sea sky at dusk is another highlight. Seasonal events are sometimes held, so checking official information before visiting adds to the experience.
