
Overview
Kameyama Hachimangu is a Shinto shrine in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. As a Hachiman shrine, its principal deities are Emperor Ojin, Emperor Chuai, and Empress Jingu, with Emperor Nintoku and Takenouchi no Sukune also enshrined. Popularly known as Kameyama-sama, it was formerly a prefectural shrine and is today a Beppyo shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines.

History
The shrine is said to have been established in 859, giving it a history reaching back to the early Heian period. Formerly a prefectural shrine, it is today ranked as a Beppyo shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. As a shrine dedicated to the kami Hachiman, it has long drawn devotion.

The shrine stands in Nakanocho, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It can be reached by bus from Shimonoseki Station.
Best season
An annual festival is held every year on October 15, when the precincts are especially lively. The shrine can be visited throughout the seasons.
