History
On September 16, 1890, the Ottoman frigate Ertugrul was wrecked in the waters off Kii Oshima. To convey materials related to this event, the museum opened in December 1974. Alongside a model of the vessel and items belonging to the crew, it exhibits objects donated by the Turkish government.
