History
It is regarded as the southernmost peak of the Takashimizu range, with a primeval beech forest spreading across its northern ridge. Known geologically as part of a mountain range formed by fault-driven uplift, it is also counted among the 100 Mountains of Toyama, a selection of the prefecture's notable peaks.
Access
The mountain is reached from within Nanto City, but road conditions to the trailhead and the state of the trail itself can change, so it is advisable to check the latest official information from Nanto City or mountaineering information sites before visiting.
Best season
The period from early summer, when the beech forest comes into leaf, through autumn foliage season is considered the easiest time to walk here. Winter climbs require appropriate gear and experience.
