Its body straddles Kurobe in Toyama Prefecture and Omachi in Nagano Prefecture, with the summit located on the Toyama side. History
Located in the Ushirotateyama range of the Hida Mountains (Northern Alps), it is chosen as one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains. It is sometimes written as Goryu-dake (五龍岳) with only the character for "dragon" in the old form.
Access
The mountain lies on the border between Kurobe in Toyama Prefecture and Omachi in Nagano Prefecture. Please check trailheads and transport access before your visit.

As a high mountain of 2,814 meters, climbing centers on the summer-to-autumn season, avoiding the period when snow remains.
