History
The station was registered on November 24, 1993, and opened to the public on August 9, 1994. National Route 9 is a coastal artery linking the towns of the San'in region, and this roadside station was developed as a gateway to the harbor town of Akasaki. Since then it has served both as a showcase for local goods and as a rest point for long-distance drivers.
Access
The station lies along National Route 9 in Bessho, Kotoura, and is most easily reached by car. Because it sits on the coastal route, it fits naturally into a journey between the Tottori City area and the Yonago or Sakaiminato direction. Please check official information for public transport connections and parking details.
Best season
Being by the sea, it can be enjoyed all year. Spring to early summer, when the Sea of Japan is calm and the air is clear, is especially pleasant, as is the season when local seafood is at its best. Winter brings the wild, dramatic seascapes typical of the San'in coast.
