
Overview
The Inaba Provincial Office Site is the ruins of the provincial capital that served as the center of local administration under the ritsuryo system, located in the Nakago, Kokufu neighborhood of Tottori, Tottori Prefecture. Inaba Province corresponds to roughly the eastern half of present-day Tottori Prefecture, and the site lies about 10 kilometres east of central Tottori. It is designated a National Historic Site of Japan.

History
The Inaba Provincial Office Site consists of the ruins of the provincial capital of Inaba Province, dating from the Nara period to the early Heian period. Inaba Province made up roughly the eastern half of present-day Tottori Prefecture. The site was designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 1978.

The site is located in the Nakago, Kokufu neighborhood of Tottori, about 10 kilometres east of the city center. The Inaba Manyo History Museum stands nearby.
