Overview

Sunshine Aquarium is a public aquarium in the World Import Mart building of Sunshine City in Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo. It opened in October 1978 and was formerly known as the Sunshine International Aquarium. The aquarium occupies the top floors and rooftop of the building.

History

The aquarium opened in October 1978 as the Sunshine International Aquarium. It closed for about a year from September 1, 2010, for a full renovation and reopened on August 4, 2011. It is operated by Sunshine Enterprises, Inc.

The aquarium is located in the World Import Mart building within Sunshine City in Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo.

As an indoor facility, it can be visited year-round regardless of the weather.
