History
The Yazawa River eroded the plateau to carve out Todoroki Ravine, a gorge landform unusual for Tokyo's inner wards. Long cherished as land blessed with spring water and greenery, it is now lined with walking paths that draw many visitors to enjoy the seasons.

The river flows through southern Setagaya Ward, around 35.60°N, 139.64°E. For Todoroki Ravine, the nearest station is Todoroki on the Tokyu Oimachi Line, from which the ravine entrance is a short walk. Check official sources for the exact entrance and path conditions.
Best season
Early summer, with its dazzling fresh greenery, and autumn, when the trees turn color, are especially recommended. In summer the ravine stays cooler than its surroundings, making it a fine urban refuge for a walk.
