Roadside Station Mibu stands along Tochigi Prefectural Route 71 in the Kuniya area of Mibu, Shimotsuga District. Its core facility, the Mibu Highway Park, sits next to the Mibu Parking Area on the Kita-Kanto Expressway and doubles as a highway oasis usable from both the expressway and ordinary roads. Beyond the station itself, the site extends into the Mibu Town General Park, the Mibu Toy Museum within it, and the neighboring Tochigi Wanpaku Park, forming a sprawling complex that offers far more than a simple rest stop.

History

The station was established on 31 July 2009 and opened on 23 October the same year. Mibu is widely known as a toy-manufacturing hub, and this local character shaped the station's design, linking the roadside facility with the town's general park, toy museum, and children's park as a single integrated destination. Built as a highway-oasis type that bridges an expressway parking area with a cluster of local parks, Mibu's origins are distinctive among roadside stations.
