History

Development began on August 9, 2004, and the station opened on April 21, 2006. It was created as a gateway to Tochigi City with a view of Mount Mikamo, serving both as a rest stop for drivers on Route 50 and as a base for regional promotion. Since opening it has been used as a place to introduce the products of the southern prefecture.

The station lies along National Route 50 in Tochigi City, near 36.30 degrees north and 139.63 degrees east.
