Overview

Roadside Station Haga stands in the Ubagai district of Haga Town, Haga County, Tochigi Prefecture. It is divided into a west building and an east building: the west houses a general information desk and a delicatessen, while the east contains a product hall and a farm produce market. Across the road on the west side, the Haga hot spring facility called Roman-no-yu is attached, so shopping, dining, and bathing can all be enjoyed in one place, which is its great appeal.

Highlights

  • A well-equipped two-building layout: information desk and deli in the west, product hall and farm market in the east
  • The attached Haga hot spring Roman-no-yu across the road lets you enjoy a bath as well
  • The Ubagai farm produce market offers seasonal flavors from around Haga Town
  • A highly convenient stop where shopping, dining, and hot springs come together in one place

History

Development began on August 21, 2001, and the station opened on April 27, 2002. It sits in Ubagai, the central part of Haga Town, and is operated by the designated manager Haga-machi Roman Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. To distinguish it from other stations sharing the same name, it is known as the Haga in Tochigi Prefecture, and it has grown as a hub connecting local farming, tourism, and hot-spring bathing.

Access

It is located in Ubagai, Haga Town, Haga County, Tochigi Prefecture, roughly around 36.55 degrees north and 140.06 degrees east, along the town road known as the Mikkaichi-Kamiyokonishi line. Access by car is convenient, and heading for Ubagai in central Haga Town makes the location easy to find. Public transport is limited, so it is reassuring to check bus routes and timetables in official information beforehand.

Best season

The harvest season, when local produce fills the farm market, is especially busy with visitors seeking fresh vegetables and specialties. Because the Roman-no-yu hot spring is attached, a stop during the cold season to warm up is also recommended. Each season offers its own pleasures, but produce and hot-spring hours may change, so confirming official information before visiting is the surest approach.
