Overview
Shioda Dam is an irrigation-only rockfill dam built on the Yanamegawa, a fourth-order tributary of the Naka River, in Shioda, Yaita, Tochigi Prefecture. Built to secure water for farming, it holds its reservoir in a green, mountainous setting.

History
Construction began in 1977 and was completed in 2000. The dam stands 26.1 m high with a crest length of 218 m; it has a catchment area of 2.6 km2, impounds about 6 ha of land when full, and can store about 460,000 cubic meters of water.
