Overview
The Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden is a botanical garden with alligators located at Naramoto, Higashiizu-cho, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture, within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. It opened on September 20, 1958, and combines a reptile collection with tropical plant displays.

History
Since opening on September 20, 1958, the garden has kept and displayed alligators and other reptiles alongside a tropical botanical section heated by hot spring water. According to Kawata, as of 2004 the zoo area held 29 reptile species comprising 349 specimens.

The garden is located at 971-9 Naramoto, Higashiizu-cho, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture, within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. It is open daily and an admission fee is charged. Check official sources in advance for current hours and transportation options.
Best season
Because the tropical plants and reptiles are kept in greenhouses heated by hot spring water, the garden is comfortable to visit in any season, including winter.
