
Overview
The Yumizawa River is a first-class river that flows through the eastern part of Fujinomiya in Shizuoka Prefecture and joins the Urui River. When the Hoshiyama floodway was cut in 1974 (Shōwa 49) and the Numakawa river system, including the Urui River, was incorporated into the Fuji River system, the Yumizawa River too became a first-class river.

History
The Yumizawa River flows through the eastern part of Fujinomiya in Shizuoka Prefecture and joins the Urui River. In 1974 (Shōwa 49) the Hoshiyama floodway was excavated, and the Numakawa river system, including the Urui River, was incorporated into the Fuji River system. As a result, the Yumizawa River also became a first-class river.

The river runs through eastern Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture, and its banks can be reached from around the Fujinomiya urban area.
Best season
As a lowland river, it suits a stroll in mild, settled-weather seasons.
