Izu Animal Kingdom is a zoo, officially a nature park for animals and plants, in Inatori, Higashiizu, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture. It was created by renovating the former Izu Bio Park and is affectionately known as "Anikin" by locals. Its appeal lies in encountering a wide variety of animals surrounded by rich nature.

History
The park opened on October 1, 1977. It was reborn as today's Izu Animal Kingdom after its predecessor, the Izu Bio Park, was renovated. With its long history, it remains a much-loved zoo in the region.
Access
It is located in Inatori, Higashiizu, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture. As it sits in the Inatori area of the eastern Izu Peninsula, visitors usually arrive by public transport or car. Please check maps and official information for detailed routes.
Best season
Since much of the viewing is outdoors, the comfortable seasons of spring and autumn are recommended. Visiting during the bright daytime hours makes it easier to watch the animals at their most active.
