  • Countryside scenery framed by the green Chugoku Mountains
  • A gateway on the route linking western Shimane and Yamaguchi

History

The facility opened on August 5, 1996, and was formally designated a roadside station on April 1, 1997. The surrounding land, once the village of Kakinoki and now part of Yoshika, has long been known for its commitment to organic farming and community building. The station grew out of that tradition as a place to showcase and sell locally grown produce, and even after municipal mergers folded the village into Yoshika, it continues to carry the district name as a familiar local landmark.

Access

Located at roughly 34.44 degrees north and 131.87 degrees east in Kakinoki, Yoshika, Kanoashi District, Shimane, the station lies directly on National Route 187. Access is best by car, along the driving route linking the Yamaguchi side with the Masuda area. Because public transport options, opening hours, and closing days may change, please confirm current details through official sources before visiting.

Best season

Each season in this mountain village has its own charm, with the fresh greenery of spring and early summer and a rich harvest of local produce in autumn. In the cold months, the mountainous roads can freeze or see snow, so drivers should check the weather and road conditions before setting out.
