Nakanoshima is one of the Dozen Islands in the Oki archipelago of Shimane Prefecture, and the main island of the town of Ama. Also called Ama-to, it covers about 32.21 square kilometres and is home to roughly 2,400 people. Much of the island lies within Daisen-Oki National Park, offering rich natural scenery amid the Sea of Japan.
