Overview
Eigenji Dam is a dam built on the Echi River of the Yodo River system in Higashiōmi City, Shiga Prefecture. With an imposing scale of 73.5 meters in height and 392 meters in crest length, it serves both irrigation and power production. The reservoir spreading among the surrounding mountains is a scenic highlight in its own right.

History
Construction began in 1952 and was completed in 1972. It is a compound structure combining a gravity concrete dam and a fill dam, with a catchment area of 131.5 square kilometers. When full, it impounds about 98 hectares and can store 22,741 thousand cubic meters of water.
