Overview

Tobu Zoo is a combined leisure complex with both a zoo and an amusement park, straddling the towns of Miyashiro and the city of Shiraoka in Saitama Prefecture. Covering a total area of 54 hectares, it is owned by Tobu Railway. Its appeal is that you can enjoy animal encounters and amusement-park rides all in one place.

History

Tobu Zoo was established on March 18, 1981, and opened on March 28 of the same year. Since then it has been loved as a leisure destination combining a zoo and an amusement park across a vast site spanning Miyashiro and Shiraoka.

The facility spans Miyashiro and Shiraoka in Saitama Prefecture. Because the grounds cover a large 54 hectares, it is best to check maps and official information for the entrance and how to get around the park.

Best season

Summer is recommended, when the adjoining Tobu Super Pool is open and you can spend a full day combining the animals, the rides, and the water.
