Overview
Warabino no Tanada is a set of terraced rice fields in Ochi-cho, Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, built on the northern slope of Mount Hachiman, which rises to 764 meters. The terraces cover an area of about 40 hectares.

History
The terraces were selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Terraced Rice Fields by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 1999, and the surrounding landscape, including nearby forest land, was designated a national Important Cultural Landscape in 2008. In 2002, the site was also chosen for the Yomiuri Shimbun's commemorative "100 Scenic Walks" project.
Access
The terraces are located in Hirayama-kami-warabino, Ochi-cho, Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, on the northern slope of Mount Hachiman.
Best season
The terraces are especially scenic in early summer, when the flooded paddies reflect the sky, and in autumn, when the rice ripens.
