Overview
Cape Hado is a cape at the northernmost tip of the Higashimatsuura Peninsula in Chinzei-cho, Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, facing the Genkai Sea (Iki Strait). As part of Genkai Quasi-National Park, it is a scenic spot equipped with an undersea observation tower, a swimming beach, a campground, and a seaside park. History
The area lies within Genkai Quasi-National Park, designated in 1956, and the surrounding waters were incorporated into the park in 1970 as Japan's first marine park (now a marine area park). At the cape's far tip stand the unmanned Hado-misaki Lighthouse and a cape shrine.
