
Overview
Kakara Island lies in the Genkai Sea about 4 km north of Cape Hado at the northern tip of the Higashimatsuura Peninsula, and belongs to the city of Karatsu in Saga Prefecture. Its administrative area is Kakarajima, Chinzei, Karatsu. In 2009 it was chosen for the "100 Island Treasures" for its legend of the birth of King Muryeong of Baekje.
