On its grounds is a pond known as Amida-ike (Amida Pond), and the temple has long been familiarly called "Amida-ike" after it. Amidaike-suji, one of the north-south arterial streets running through central Osaka, takes its name from this temple as well.

Access

The temple sits in Kitahorie, Nishi-ku, within easy reach of central Osaka. It is advisable to confirm visiting hours and any scheduled events beforehand.

Best season

Wako-ji can be visited year-round, but spring and autumn are pleasant seasons for a quiet walk around the Amida Pond on its grounds.
