Overview
Kibitsu Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the Kibitsu neighborhood of Kita-ku, Okayama, Okayama Prefecture, and is the ichinomiya (first shrine) of former Bitchū Province. It is listed as a Shikinaisha (Myōjin Taisha) and is today a Beppyō shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. Its main sanctuary and worship hall are designated National Treasures.

History
In the Engishiki it is recorded as "Kibitsuhiko Jinja" and was listed as a Shikinaisha (Myōjin Taisha). Revered as the first shrine of Bitchū Province, it once held the rank of Kanpei Chūsha and is today a Beppyō shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. Its main sanctuary and worship hall are designated National Treasures.

Best season
The principal festivals are held on the second Sunday of May and on October 15. The precinct is especially lively during these festival periods.
