Overview
Nakayama Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the Ichinomiya neighborhood of Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture, and is the ichinomiya of the former Mimasaka Province. It is a shikinaisha (myōjin taisha) shrine whose former rank was kokuhei chūsha, and it is now a beppyō shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. Its main hall is designated an Important Cultural Property.

History
As a shikinaisha (myōjin taisha), it has long been regarded as the ichinomiya of Mimasaka Province. Its former rank was kokuhei chūsha, and it is now a beppyō shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. Although its name is now read 'Nakayama', it was formerly read 'Chuzen' or 'Chuzan', and it was also known as 'Nakayama Daimyōjin' or 'Nangū'.
