History
The shrine enshrines a divided spirit of Oyamazumi Shrine in Iyo Province (Ehime Prefecture), which earned deep reverence from warriors. After the Sengoku daimyo Otomo Sorin entered Niujima Castle (Usuki Castle), it drew the devotion of successive lords including the Otomo clan, Ota Kazuyoshi and the Inaba clan.
