
Overview
Yufuin Onsen is a hot spring resort in the city of Yufu, Ōita Prefecture, spreading out at the foot of Mount Yufu, which rises to 1,584 metres. It boasts an abundant supply of water, ranking second nationwide in both spring output and number of sources. Gift shops and eateries line the area, and inns are scattered mainly along the rivers.

History
On 5 May 1959 it was designated a National Health Resort Onsen as "Yufuin Onsen" together with Yuhira Onsen. Later, on 4 October 2019, it received an expanded designation as the "Yufuin Onsenkyō", incorporating Tsukahara, Shōnai and Hasama onsen within the city of Yufu. It has developed as a hot spring resort against the backdrop of its rich water supply.

The scenery can be enjoyed through each of the four seasons alongside views of Mount Yufu, and the hot springs are available year-round.
