Overview
Mount Waita (涌蓋山, Waita-zan/Waita-san) is a Quaternary volcano straddling Kokonoe in Kusu District, Oita Prefecture, and Oguni in Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture. It has an elevation of 1,500 meters. It is not an active volcano, and its slopes show a degree of erosion.
