History

Listed in the Engishiki register of shrines, Hida Shrine counts among the shikinaisha of former Echigo Province. Under the modern shrine ranking system used before the war, it held the rank of gosha (village shrine).

The shrine is located in Miyauchi, Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, on a hill west of the settlement, at the eastern foot of a ridge branching from Mount Aota-Namba, with its buildings facing east. Visitors are advised to check the access route in advance.
