
Overview
Kanose Dam is a 32.6-meter-high gravity concrete dam built on the middle reaches of the Agano River in Aga, Niigata Prefecture. Operated and managed by Tohoku Electric Power as a dam dedicated to power generation, it is also known locally as Tsunogami Dam. It has been listed among Japan's 2,800 modern civil engineering heritage works by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers.

History
Completed in 1928, the dam is a power-generation facility operated and managed by Tohoku Electric Power. Of the gravity concrete type, it has been recognized as a historically valuable civil engineering structure and selected among Japan's 2,800 modern civil engineering heritage works by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers.
