Mount Yamato Katsuragi is a 959.2 m mountain straddling the border between Gose in Nara Prefecture and Chihayaakasaka in Osaka Prefecture. Long familiar simply as Mount Katsuragi, it is selected among Japan's 300 Famous Mountains. Mount Yamato Katsuragi has long been familiar simply as Mount Katsuragi, and it has been known by several other names — Mount Kaina, Mount Tenshin, and Mount Kamo on the Yamato Province side, and Shinoga Peak on the Kawachi Province side. It straddles the border between Gose in Nara Prefecture and Chihayaakasaka in Osaka Prefecture, with a peak elevation of 959.2 m. In addition to Japan's 300 Famous Mountains, it is selected among the 100 Famous Kansai Mountains, the Osaka 50 Mountains, and the Nara 100 Mountains.
Access
The mountain straddles the border between Gose in Nara Prefecture and Chihayaakasaka in Osaka Prefecture, and can be approached from either side.

The mountain scenery shifts with the seasons, and mild weather is suited to climbing.
