Overview
Banshō-in Temple is a temple of the Tendai school located in Izuhara-cho, Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture. It is known as the family temple of the Sō clan, the lords of the Tsushima domain, and stands in Izuhara, the historic center of island governance. History
Banshō-in was founded in 1615. Its name is taken from Sō Yoshitoshi, lord of the Tsushima domain, and it has served as the family temple of the Sō clan. Though it was once lost to fire, it continues to convey the history of Tsushima to this day.
