History

The building was constructed in 1930 as the Kamiina Library and served as a public library for many years until 2003. It was then transferred to the city and designated a Tangible Cultural Property of Ina City, and on May 24, 2010, it reopened as Ina City Souzou-kan, combining the functions of a lifelong-learning center and a museum.
