Overview
Ryuten Bridge is a road bridge in Hinokage Town, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture. It spans the Gokase River to connect the districts on either bank, rising 100.2 meters above the water surface. It is known as the highest forest-road bridge in Japan.

History
Completed in 1990, its name was chosen through a public contest. It is a deck-type Lohse (through-arch) bridge with a maximum span of 200 meters, a total length of 260 meters, and a width of 8 meters; construction cost 1.9 billion yen. It links the left bank, carried by National Route 218, with the right bank served by a prefectural road.

The bridge is in Hinokage Town, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture, spanning the Gokase River. Miyazaki Prefectural Route 237 (Kitakata-Takachiho Line) passes directly beneath it. Please check maps and official information for detailed routes.
Best season
The fresh-green and autumn-foliage seasons, when the gorge is at its richest, are recommended. In the bright hours of daytime you can enjoy the beauty of the Gokase River gorge seen from 100.2 meters up.
