
Overview
Tashirojima is an island on the western side of the Oshika Peninsula, belonging to Ishinomaki in Miyagi Prefecture. It covers about 2.92 square kilometers with a shoreline of roughly 11.5 kilometers, and has two settlements, Oodomari and Nitoda. It is known as "Cat Island" for the large number of cats that live there.
