History

As a temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect, Shirokozan Kannon-ji has long been counted among the sacred sites of both the Ise Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage and the Mie Shikoku 88-Temple Pilgrimage. Its grounds also preserve a natural feature that has received national Natural Monument designation.
