Overview
Okage Yokochō is a tourist destination in front of the Inner Shrine (Kōtai Jingū) of Ise Grand Shrine in Ise, Mie Prefecture. It recreates the townscape of the shrine-gate town from the late Edo to early Meiji periods, when pilgrimages known as Okage Mairi drew crowds. Set midway along Oharai-machi, it is one of the representative sights of the Ise-Shima area.

History
The site is operated by Ise Fuku Co., a subsidiary of Akafuku, which makes and sells the Ise specialty Akafuku mochi, and it opened in 1993. It recreates the townscape of the old shrine-gate town that once bustled with Okage Mairi pilgrims, and its architecture received the BCS Prize. The name derives from the Okage Mairi pilgrimage.
Access
It lies before the Inner Shrine of Ise Grand Shrine in Ise, midway along Oharai-machi. It occupies a section along the approach.
Best season
The recreated townscape can be enjoyed year-round and is easily combined with a shrine visit.
