Overview
The Port of Misumi is a harbor in Misumi, Uki, Kumamoto Prefecture, managed by Kumamoto Prefecture. It is designated a major port under the Port and Harbor Act and a specified port under the Port Regulations Act. Divided into the West Port (the old port) and the East Port, its West Port is one of the component sites of the World Heritage listing 'Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution: Iron and Steel, Shipbuilding and Coal Mining.'

History
The Port of Misumi developed as two parts, the West Port (the old port) and the East Port. The West Port is inscribed on the World Heritage List as one of the component sites of 'Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution: Iron and Steel, Shipbuilding and Coal Mining.'
