Shinshou-ji Temple

Overview

Shinshō-ji is a Shingon Buddhist temple of the Buzan school located in Muroto, Kōchi Prefecture. Known by the mountain name Hōshuzan and the hall name Shingon-in, its principal image of worship is the Kajitori Enmei Jizō Bosatsu. It is the 25th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage.

History

Shinshō-ji belongs to the Buzan school of Shingon Buddhism and is known by the mountain name Hōshuzan and the hall name Shingon-in. Its principal image of worship, the Kajitori Enmei Jizō Bosatsu, has long been venerated, and the temple has been counted as the 25th sacred site of the Shikoku Pilgrimage.
