
Overview
Yuigahama is a sandy beach facing Sagami Bay in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture. Known as part of the Shonan coast with its famous swimming beach, it draws many bathers every summer. It forms part of the shore that continues from Inamuragasaki toward Zaimokuza.

History
The center of Yuigahama as an administrative district came into being between 1964 and 1965 and was named after the beach; until then the area was divided among Zaimokuza, Ōmachi, and Hase. There are several theories about the origin of the name, one holding that it derives from an earlier place name, Yuigo.

The beach is in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, adjoining Shichirigahama across Inamuragasaki.
Best season
Summer is when the swimming beach is busiest, while a mild season is more comfortable for strolling the sands.
