History
Since its opening in 2001, the resort served as one of the few full-scale ski facilities in Shikoku, offering winter recreation to visitors. Its name was drawn from Unpen-ji, an old temple located in the same mountain area. Amid changing operating conditions, the resort closed for good in March 2020, ending its run as an active ski facility.
Access
Access routes from central Kan'onji were once maintained for visitors to the resort, but since operations ended, current conditions regarding entry and roads may have changed. Anyone considering a visit should check the latest information beforehand.
Best season
When it was operating, winter, the snow season, was naturally the peak time for the resort. As it is no longer in operation, however, checking the facility's current status takes priority over choosing a season.
