
Overview
Kozogawa Dam is a water-supply dam in Tano-cho, Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. This gravity dam on the Kozogawa, a right tributary of the Tano River in the Nakagawa River system, rises 35 meters high with a 364-meter-long crest and serves as a reservoir supplying drinking water. History
Construction began in 1980 and was completed in 1985. When full, the reservoir spreads across about 20 hectares and holds roughly 1,970,000 cubic meters of water. It was built exclusively as a dedicated water-supply dam.
Access

Best season
Spring to early summer, when the greenery is vivid, and the autumn foliage season make for pleasant strolls. Viewing the calm water during bright daytime hours is especially recommended.
