History

Yoshida Shrine was ranked among the Shikinaisha as a Myojin Taisha and positioned as the Third Shrine of Hitachi Province, a venerable status. Though it lies in Miyauchi-cho, Mito, the site historically belonged to Naka district in Hitachi Province and has served as a center of faith here since ancient times. Its main hall is built in the Shinmei-zukuri style, whose plain and dignified form conveys the spirit of traditional shrine architecture.

The shrine sits in Miyauchi-cho, Mito City, near 36.36 degrees north and 140.48 degrees east, on the southeastern side of the city.
